Spinosaurus was the biggest of all the carnivorous dinosaurs.  Indeed, they were larger than Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus. However, it’s unclear EXACTLY just how big Spinosaurus was, due to incomplete fossils.

HOW BIG DID THEY GET?

In this case the skull measured up to 6 feet long.  In addition to having a body length of 46 to 59 feet long.

WHEN DID THEY LIVE?

It lived during part of the Cretaceous period, about 112 million to 97 million years ago, roaming the swamps of North Africa.

WHAT DID THEY EAT?

Because they were primarily an aquatic dinosaur it is thought to have survived primarily on fish. For instance, giant coelacanths, sawfish, large lungfish and sharks. All of which lived in the dinosaur’s river system

WHAT WAS THEIR BACK SAIL USED FOR?
Probably for social displays or species recognition
