In this case the term Triceratops, literally means “three-horned face” and is derived from the Greek.  Bearing a large bony frill as well as three horns on its large four-legged body. Similarly with the modern rhinoceros,                              .

One of the most recognizable of all dinosaurs as well as the best known ceratopsians. It shared the landscape with and was probably preyed upon by the Tyrannosaurus.  However it is less certain that the two did battle in the manner often depicted in traditional museum displays and popular images.
