Trigonia is an extinct genus of saltwater clams. In this case the genus is the most readily identifiable member of the family. Illustrated by a series of strong ribs also known as costae along the anterior part of the shell exterior. The fossil range of the genus spans from 298 to 56 Million Years Ago. In this case there is only one living relative alive today. This specimen is beautifully prepared as well as very detailed.
