WHAT WERE THEY?
Mosausaurs were the largest lizards that ever evolved and could attain lengths of almost 60 feet with a skull 6 foot long! The Mosasaurus was a powerful swimmer who spent its entire life in the sea. They were adapted to swimming due to having long bodies with tails and strong limbs.
WHEN DID THEY LIVE?
These reptiles lived during the later part of the Cretaceous period. In this case from about 96 million years ago to about 65 million years ago. Equally, they lived at the same time as many of the dinosaurs, and similarly like the dinosaurs became extinct during the Cretaceous-Tertiary mass extinction
WHAT DID THEY EAT?
Mosasaurs were carnivores eating fish, sea urchins, turtles, and shellfish.
