This tiny horse was as small as a housecat or small dog.  They had 3 toes on their hind feet in contrast to horses of the Late Eocene. Also their front feet had four toes. Their teeth differed significantly from modern horses. Because of this they were adapted to a fairly general browser’s diet due to the shape of their teeth.
