Gem Ammolite Ammonite
- Ammolite
- Placenticeras costatum
- Late Cretaceous Age
- Bearpaw Formation
- Alberta Canada
- This specimen measures approx. 12.50″ wide x 10″ tall
- This beautiful specimen has two very different sides. The first side is extremely bright and colorful with all the colors of the spectrum present including some of the rare purples. The second side is a bit darker, but has amazing character and areas with really bright colors. It displays three well pronounced perforations which I believe are bitemarks from a marine reptile such as a mosasaur. It has lots of colour including some pinks and purples. The shape is very good with well pronounced ribbing and amazing patterning throughout!
