- This is genuine fossil vertebrae from an Ice Age Tapir. The specimen measures 4.15″ tall x 3.2″ wide.
The Tapir was a primitive hoofed browser with a trunk-like nose. The short trunk is used to sniff out and guide vegetation into the mouth.
