- This specimen had not molted prior to being entombed in the sediments and fossilized. As a result it retains it’s free-cheeks If you look at the pics you will see that there are 2 trilobites stacked one on top of the other.. “Love Bugs”?

This is the most familiar and equally abundant trilobite in North America. However it occurs at only a few localities in the Middle Cambrian Wheeler Formation of Utah. Hence, these trilobites are roughly 500 million years old.
