The Gin was sold to West African costal traders who were involved in the transatlantic slave trade. Along with textiles, rifles, & gunpowder they were one of the most sought after European goods.
In addition slave traders traded the Dutch Gin for African slaves. Antique bottles and glass of all eras including the very recent are collectible and sought after, although arguably the hayday of glassblowing for many collectors is the second half of the 19th century.
