- Placenticeras costatum. Measures approximately 28cm. x 20cm (11” x 8”) and weighs 1 kg (just over 2 pounds). Very bright and beautiful ammonite with good shape. It is a bit compressed but makes up for it with amazing colors on both sides. Displays lots of purples and blues with greens, golds and reds on both sides. It has excellent colors throughout and displays marvelous ribbing.

Ammolite – A RARE gemstone material that forms on the outer shell of certain ammonites. It displays brilliant iridescent colors, much like opal or mother-of-pearl. Colors – Red and green are most common, but rare blues and purples are highly prized.
