- Placenticeras costatum Measures approximately 30cm. x 24cm (12” x 9 ½”) and weighs 2.5 kg (5 1/2 pounds). Extremely bright ammonite with excellent shape. Displays reds, oranges, golds and greens with a touch of the rare blues on both sides. It displays prominent markings on the outer surface that have been described as bitemarks from a marine reptile. Most likely a mosasaur. Some of these bitemarks have compression fractures around them. It has excellent colors throughout.

Ammolite – A RARE gemstone material that forms on the outer shell of certain ammonites. It displays brilliant iridescent colors, much like opal or mother-of-pearl. Colors – Red and green are most common, but rare blues and purples are highly prized.
