Crinoids look like a plant however they are actually an animal. They are also referred to as Sea Lilies as well. In addition they are also related to starfish as well as Sea Urchins and Sea Cucumbers. Finally, they do have living ancestors but unlike the fossil crinoids they are not as large or as diverse as they once were.
