Very little is known about Anchippus. It was an ancient browsing horse that has been found in Texas but is currently undescribed in Florida. Fossils have only been found in one isolated area. The Florida Museum of Natural History has a group of fossils from this rare horse, but as of yet they have not been fully studied or published. While very similar to Parahippus (which is a million years older,) Anchippus has different tooth morphology. Other than isolated fossils that make their way to the fossil market, fossils from this ancient three-toed horse are very rare and elusive.
